David Owino was on target as Zesco United beat Green Eagles by a goal to nil in a week 7 fixture of the FAZ MTN Super Division played in Choma on Saturday 23rd April 2016.
The Kenyan International struck late in the second half to give the Zambian Champions three wins out of three and propells Zesco into fifth position on 9 points with four games in hand.
Owino has now netted two goals this season and this sees Zesco maintain a winning momentum following their successful qualification to the group stages of the CAF Champions League.
And second placed Nakambala Leopards maintained their unbeaten run in the Zambian Super League with a 2-1 win at Lusaka Tigers. Veteran striker Signs Chibambo scoring both goals to give Patrick Phiri’s men the all important victory.
The win sees the Sugar Boys from Mazabuka collect 12 points and cut Nkana’s lead at the top of the table to 4 points.
In other results, Power Dynamos beat Forest Rangers by 3 goals to nil at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe and Kabwe Warriors edged Lumwana Radiants 1-0 at Godfrey Chitalu Stadium in Kabwe. Lusaka Dynamos lost 2-1 at home to Green Buffaloes, Nkwazi beat Red Arrows 3-1, while Mufulira Blackpool and NAPSA drew 1 all.
