Senegalese striker Pape Sane has joined French Ligue 2 club AJ Auxerre on loan till the end of the 2017/2018 season.

According to a reliable source close to the player, Sane has decided to move to Auxerre in order to get playing time.

“I can confirm that Sane has joined Auxerre on loan.”

Reports in the French media quoted AJ Auxerre director,Alain Caveglia, giving reasons for Sane’s move.

“Sane joins a club that has ambition to go up in Ligue 1,which is very intreresting for him and for us.

“It was up to him to find more playing time at Auxerre and improve on what he had shown at Bourg by scoring goals,”as quoted on Auxerre News.

Lyon FC were reportedly interested in the player who almost joined Sporting Lisbon three years ago.

He scored 12 goals in Domino’s Ligue 2 in all 14 games that he played for Bourg-Péronnas.
