The spokesperson of Arsenal target Thomas Partey has delivered an update on the Atletico Madrid midfielder’s future.
Arsenal are said to have Partey as one of their main transfer targets this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to shape his squad ahead of the new season.
The Gunners have already added one new face with Willian arriving on a free transfer after the expiry of his contract at Chelsea.
Speaking on football 360, Samuel Zigah, Partey’s spokesperson delivered the latest on his client potentially leaving Atletico this summer.
“He can only leave Atletico Madrid when he’s not needed,” he said.
When questioned if he is still needed, his reply was: “I think that answers the question”.
The spokesperson was also asked about comments from the Ghana national team manager warning Partey against a move to Arsenal.
“With Arsenal, I’m not too sure. Arsenal fans will kill me [for saying he should not join them].
“I hope that [he stays], and I’m sure money issues will come in, but I hope that whatever he asks for, Atletico will be able to pay,” he added
“I don’t see the reason why people should go gaga,” was Zigah’s reply. “It is someone’s opinion.
“We believe in calmness, he is very calm.”
