Zambian International striker Patson Daka says he is enjoying his career at Red Bull Salzburg since he joined the club. Daka has been nominated in the category for player of the month of February at the club.
On the short list are Patson Daka, Mo Camara, Andi Ulmer and Hee Chan Hwang.
Daka has been a shining light in a month where Red Bull Salzburg were knocked out of the Europa League. Patson Daka’s pair of goals at Austria Vienna gave the team hope after our poor restart following the winter break. With his astonishing speed and admirable attitude, Patson is someone who leads the way when the times get tough.
And in an interview with soka25east.com, Daka says his life at the Club has been perfect.
“Well I can say its been awesome, most importantly the weather. Its very good and its reminding me of home. The training facilities are good. It has helped me personally since coming back from holiday.
“I think it has exceeded my expectations, ” Daka said.
“I wish I can find the word to describe what this team means to me because it has made me to be who I am today. It has given me the opportunity to be recognized as a person at a higher level in football and in life also. It’s part of my life”
Salzburg’s campaign in the Europa League was short-lived but Daka was delighted to have earned his first goal in the Champions League.
“I think it was a great achievement for us as a club, first of all because being a debut in the Champions League and the performance we had and looking at the opponents that we had. Its not something that happened by mistake or by accident. It is something that we have been preparing for a long time.
“Its everything that everyone at the club was looking forward to and always look forward to. It is the competition that every person dreams about. It was good and for me to score my first Champions League goal, It was my answered prayer. I have been praying about it waiting for this moment to come and for it happen quicker that I imagined, yeah it was a plus for me and I really thank God about it.”
