Pitso Mosimane has been charged with assault after a complaint was laid against the Mamelodi Sundowns head coach by a security official.
An IOL report says that a complaint against Mosimane has been made by a security guard at the King Zwelithini Stadium after a fracas took place between Sundowns fans and a member of the technical team.
“Security guard Nathi Ngwenya of Ngwelela Protection Services, a defense company with AmaZulu FC, has opened a case,” said AmaZulu spokesperson Brillant Mkhathini. “He indicated that the coach had struck him in the face after the match.”
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Lt-Colonel Thulani Zwane confirmed that a case had been opened.
“A case of assault at Umlaza police station was opened. No one has been arrested while investigations continue,” Zwane said.
According to reports, Mosimane left the police station after the match that saw his side held by AmaZulu in a 3-3 draw.
Sundowns have yet to comment on the matter.
