Swaziland national team coach Pieter De Jongh is worried about his players’ fitness levels.
The new Sihlangu coach observed this during his third training season with a group of 26 players as he continues to prepare for the crucial 2019 AFCON qualifier aganist Niger away in June.
“I have assessed the players physically, mentally and on discipline and will issue a report next week after having done the analysis.
“One can say that some players are not at the level of fitness required to play at this level. That is why I made them watch the UEFA Champions League match between Juventus and Barcelona to see how soccer players should look physically,” he said.
The former AFC Leopards mentor also proposed a change of diet to the players in the training camp that is located under very hot conditions at FA techinical centre.
“I have changed the menu to control the diet and from here onwards there will no longer be white bread but instead brown bread,”he said in an interview with the Times of Swaziland.
However, De Jongh is without Mbabane Swallows players who are preoaring for CAF Confederation Cup second lef play off match aganist Congolese side AC Leopard that will be played this weekend at Somhlolo National Stadium.
