The FAZ Super Division will see its players battle it out for an Award from the football fans across the country in an online poll to be conducted every month to award Zambia’s best players.

The award has been introduced by prominent Zambian Football Journalists who will use the Facebook platforms to receive votes from fans.

Speaking to Soka25east.com today, Zambian Football writer Puncherello Chama says the award aims at giving fans the opportunity to pick their favorite star performer in a particular month.

Chama says the award will also give the Zambian Super League exposure and generate more interest in the Local League.

“The Fans player of the month will give an opportunity to create interest in the local league and give the fans information on the players that play in the Zambian Super League. Many of the fans who watch the National Team don’t even know the names of the players.

Chama reveals that the poll will be conducted every first week of the month with polls closing on Friday and the winner announced on Saturday.

“Votes will be submitted on various platforms on Facebook; that is on my wall (Puncherello Chama ), Bwenzani Mbewe with Zed Football, Chibulu Ba Muzo Musonda’s wall, Talk Football Zambia group and on the Zambia Super League group,” Chama said.

The Fans Player of the month will walk away with prize money. Fans who participate in the poll will also be reward accordingly but no inbox votes will be counted.

“We want transparency and if one person voted on different forums, it will be counted as one vote. The most consistent fans will be rewarded with replicas of local clubs and also transport to watch away games of their favourite team.” He adds

Winners of the monthly awards will be then in the running for Fans player of the year award at the end of the season.
