Police FC has terminated contracts of two of their key players, captain Godfrey Katerrega, and his assistant Sadat Kyambadde,for betting and match fixing.
According to the club chairman Asan Kasingye the players are now free to join any other club as their services are no longer needed by the outfit.
The club chairman has also revealed that the club has also released one of their longest serving players,Peter Ssenyonjo after he left for United Arab Emirates (UAE) without the club’s contest.
“I am informing you with a heavy heart, that Police FC has parted company with three of its senior player. Katerega Godfrey and Kyambadde Sadat for betting and throwing away team matches and Senyonjo Peter who has gone to UAE on his own frolic without the clubs consent. We have canceled their contracts and wish them well elsewhere.” Afande Kasingye said.
Police FC plays in Uganda Premier league and it has been running in troubles after Sam Timbe resigned from the club in October this year.
Currently,the club is sitting on 13th position on the table with only two wins in their last 5 matches.
