After several decades in the lower leagues, AS-Police Football Club has sealed promotion back to the Chad’s First Division League for the 2017/2018 season.
This is after the national police outfit hammered AS Osana 2-0 on Sunday July 30 2017 at Mahamat Ouya Stadium in N’Djamena in a lower league play-off which attracted four teams- AS Police,Onasa,Unite and Ecole de Football N’Gaba who topped the 16 team league.
In an interview with press immediately after they were crowned champions AS Police coach Tahir Zakaria Gardi thanked supporters for beleiving in his young boys and promised that they will work hard in the national football league.
“Our hard work has finally paid off. These players have sacrificed so much to ensure we get promoted. I want to congratulate them and thank everyone who has played a part in ensuring we achieve this milestone,”said coach Tahir.
On his part,Director General of the National Police,Tahir Edra promised the team that they will receive maximum support.
“Apart from police providing security we are also football lovers.As the club management we are going to see that we win the league and play in the CAF champions league”,he concluded.
