Zesco United’s title defense hopes suffered a set back after suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Napsa Stars in a league match played in Lusaka on Sunday.
John Makwata’s late goal rescued a sense of consolation for George Lwandamina and his charges.
Napsa Stars were on fire on the day hoping to end a poor run of four matches without a win while the Champions were aiming to solidify their chase for a fourth straight league crown.
It was Napsa who opened the scoring from fullback Aaron Kabwe in the 41st minute.
Tapson Kaseba added a second after restart but the goal was ruled out for an offside a decision that sparked a wide debate.
Collins Sikombe however, did make it 2 nillbin the 62nd minute for the Pensioners before Kenyan striker John Makwatta scored in the 88th minute.
Zesco United are in fourth on the log and it looks like title is slowly slipping away from them.
Napsa are still 5th with 39 points and are only separated by goal difference with Zesco who are in 4th place.
