Power Dynamos midfielder Kelvin Mubanga says they are hungry for success in the 2016 Charity Shield final.
The Kitwe side will face Green Buffaloes in this year’s final of the season-opening competition on March 9 at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
Mubanga said the Kitwe side is also very eager to redeem themselves after losing 3-1 in last year’s final to Zesco United.
Incidentally, Power beat Zesco 4-2 on post-match penalties on February 20 to reach this year’s final after their semifinal clash ended 1-1 at Nkoloma.
“The final will be a different ball game but we are going to put in all our best,” Mubanga said.
“We have to because we are young and everyone is putting in their best in training so we are trying to work hard and lift the Charity Shield after losing in last year’s final to Zesco.”
Mubanga added that it was great feeling to have also beaten Zesco after losing in all three competitive encounters against the latter in the 2015 season.
Power are also chasing their first silverware under coach Tennant Chiulumba, who has not won any honours since his appointment in June, 2013 despite finishing second and third in 2014 and 2015 respectively in the Faz Super League.
