Congo DR president Joseph Kabila today gave each of the Congo team players a fleet of high end 4×4s glittering luxury Prado car worth USD 60,000 each after their exploits in the just concluded CHAN tournament where they won the tournament beating Mali 3-0 in the final.
This is the second time that the Congolese team has lifted the trophy, the first being the inaugural tournament held in 2009.
The players were decorated with the medals in a ceremony held in Kinshasa with the president thanking them for a job well done.
” this trophy serve to forge peace and stability in our country,” said Kabila at a time
of fragile political stability.” Kabila later handed in the keys to Captain Joel Kimwaki and Coach Florent Ibenge.
