Héritier Nkonko scored the Winner as Kabwe Warriors defeated Lusaka Dynamos 2-1 in a preseason friendly played at the Napsa Sports Complex in Lusaka today.
The game was moved from Sunset Stadium to an alternative venue as a result of a waterlogged pitch and it was the host side who started on a good note.
Chris Mugalu scored early in the 4th minute with his trademark turn and shooting past Scott Aime Ngokene leaving the former Buildcon stopper with no chance.
But failure to clear the ball by Dynamos in the box gave Warriors a chance to draw level.
The attempt to clear the ball deflected off Warriors striker Emmanuel Okutu into the Dynamos net, the visiting team leveling scores in the 9th minute.
Warriors went ahead in the 13th minute thanks to Nkonko’s well calculated shot to beat Monga Ndala in the Dynamos goal.
Lusaka Dynamos pushed for an equaliser in the second period but couldn’t break down Warriors.
And Coach Tenant Chilumba said after the game that the team is 75 percent ready to start the campaign.
Chilumba said the team is working hard to prepare for the season.
“We are still working on the fitness, We started late but of course we have done something. I can see that we are 75 percent. We were playing a strong team who are very tactical but we were above them in terms of fitness and I think we are ready for League next week.
“It will be a tricky game against Nakambala but we are ready for them,” said Chilumba
Tandi Mwape seemed to have picked up a knock and Coach Tenant Chilumba gave an update.
“We don’t know how serious the injury is. We will know more on Monday when the doctors give us an update,” he added
