Just hours to the much anticipated Sunday 4 do or die clash – when Uganda Cranes host Comoros in an AFCON 2017 qualifier final day in Namboole, Uganda’s Head of State, President Yoweri Museveni has thrown his weight behind the home boys, wishing them nothing short of maximum points.

“Best wishes to the Uganda Cranes as they play Comoros in a decisive game at Namboole Stadium. I am optimistic they will emerge victorious.” Museveni’s statement to the “Micho” men read.

Cognizant of the power of football to unite, the long serving statesman is adding his voice to calls for fans to show up in large numbers and support give the Cranes moral support.

“I urge Ugandans to massively go out and support the team. Thank you.”

60,000 tickets that were on offer have already sold out with fans who were still milling around the federation’s offices at Njeru Saturday morning in search of the much sort after gate pass being turned away.

A win returns the East Africans to their fifth AFCON , and a first in 39 long and painful years.

Meanwhile, the team’s training remains a closely guarded affair. No media personal is allowed to access Kabojja Islamic University where they have been holding their sessions. Comoros on the other hand will have a feel of the match venue today at 5:00PM local time.
