Pressure intensifies for coach Baraza as Muhoroni settle to barren draw with visiting City Stars

By Bonface Osano,
Struggling Muhoroni Youth fought  and settled to a barren draw against fellow strugglers  City Stars in a dull Kenyan premier league  match played early on Saturday afternoon  at the Muhoroni stadium .
Muhoroni Youth Coach Francis Baraza is a man under a lot of pressure owing to poor start in the season as throughout the game disgruntled fans taunted as a  section of the  fans kept calling for his resignation,  accusing  him of among other things poor signings during the January transfer  window and purported poor fielding of players.
Baraza made an early substitution in the 34th minute as demanded by fans bringing on Fred “Banda” Ochieng’ for Charles Ssamanda much to the satisfaction of the partisan fans.
The two sides were blunt in attack and first half ended with no meaningful attempt at goal. However the hosts stepped up their game in the second half with skipper Abbas Akinyemi, Masita Masuta and Notikelly Masasi troubling City’s rear guard that stood tall in the entire match.
City duo of Samuel Wailer and Bruno Serunkuma gave Muhoroni defense a run for their money but their exploits were not good enough, Wailer was later substituted with Robert Ndungu in the dying minutes of the game.
The best chance of the day went the hosts way in the 85th minute when Masita Masuta went past two defenders just outside the box to find himself with only keeper Ronny Kagunzi to beat but his reaction was slow and the ball was eventually cleared for a wasted corner.
Muhoroni Youth moves a place to position 12th in the KPL with 11 points from 11 matches while City retained their second last position with 6 points after similar amount of games.
