The Teranga Lions of Senegal will take to the pitch once more to face Qatar in the second Group A match at the Al Thumama stadium on Friday.
Aliou Cisse’s men come into the match on the back of a 2-0 defeat against Netherlands and will be looking for a reaction from his boys. Senegal will be hoping to put the Dutch disappointment behind them to find the back of the net against the Qatar outfit backed by thousands of fans.
Qatar lost the opening match against Ecuador, the first time that a host nation has lost its opening fixture in the history of the FIFA World Cup. Qatar coach Felix Sanchez will be hoping to rectify the mistakes from the previous match and get the desired results for the host Nation.
Manager Felix Sanchez claimed his side was “nervous”, and their performance did represent the look of a side who froze on the big occasion.

Aliou Cisse has confirmed that Edouard Mendy will be on the pitch against Qatar this afternoon despite conceding two goals against the Dutch. However, Cheikhou Kouyate is set to miss out due to injury. Ismaila Sarr is expected to retain his spot in the startin line up.
Qatar
Qatar might have succumbed to Ecuador but Akram Afif showed moments of brilliance. He could certainly give Senegal problems.
