Just days after rejecting Kenyan Premier League Top scorer Jesse Were who has 19 goals to his name South African club Bidvest Wits will this week be home to another Kenyan Michael Olunga of Gor Mahia as he attends trials one week to the closure of the transfer window.
Michael Olunga travelled to South Africa on Monday to try his luck under the watchful eyes of no nonsense coach Gavin Hunt who has been hard to please.
Olunga who is an engineering student has scored 15 goals in the league ,5 at the Cecafa Kagame Cup 2015 and 4 for the national team Harambee Stars in the last 6 months.
Bidvest Wits have been seeking to fill the strikers position and with only a week to go it remains to see if Olunga will pass the rigorous trials which his fellow country man Jesse Were failed to pass.
Olunga has been touted as the new replacement for former Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech. His speed, agility and a knuck for scoring beautiful goals has endeared him to many fans and teams who have been salivating to get his signature.
After a brilliant performance at the Cecafa Kagame Cup where he won the golden boot award Tanzania monied team Azam offered over $200,000 for his signature but his representatives declined the offer.
