Uganda Premier League side Proline FC registered their third league win, beating Onduparaka 3-1 in a UPL match played on Wednesday 7 February at the Phillip Omondi Stadium,Lugogo.
Goals from Gift Ali, David Owori and Nelson Ssenkatuka gave Proline a well deserved win over the Arua based side who got their lone goal from penalty through Muhammad Shaban.
First half action
After just five minutes,the visitors missed a penalty that was taken by Ceaser Okhuti despite sending Saidi Keni the wrong way.
Ten minutes later Proline registered their first goal when Gift Ali connected well with a Ssenkatuka pass inside the box to put the ball behind the keeper and into the net. In the 30th minute, Onduparaka almost equalized when a Gaddafi Gadinho cross into the box found Ceaser Okhuti but with the keeper only to beat, he shot over the bar.
Onduparaka continued piling pressure on Proline as they sought an equalizer and three minutes to the half-time break, they almost managed to snatch one when a Mohammad Shaban cross into the box was punched back by Saidi Keni and confusion ensued in the Proline box but the defence recovered first to clear the ball before Shaban could shoot.
In the second half,Proline started on a high note with some beautiful passes and were able to snatch second goal through David Owor, who received a good pass from Ssenkatuka and had no problem finding the back of the net from close range.
Six minutes later Proline added their third goal through Nelson Ssenkatuka who beat two Onduparaka defenders to slot past Richard Anyama to put icing on the cake to ease the pressure from Onduparaka.
With one minute remaining,Muhammad Shaban grabbed a consolation for the visitors from a penalty shot to push his goal tally to nine this season.
When the final whistle went,Onduparaka had suffered an unexpected loss and are now forth on the log while Proline had managed to register their third win if the season to rise to the 9th position.
