A mouth watering clash pitting Vipers SC and Proline FC is set to be played on Saturday 15th October(today) starting at 1600hrs.
Currently placed third in Uganda Premier League table with fifteen points after playing eight matches, a win for Vipers SC against Proline will see them reduce the gap with table leaders KCCA to one point and keep their hopes for chasing for the premiership title.
On papers and writing may look easy for Vipers SC but it will be a tricky match considering Proline are having a trend of pushing for draws aganist tough opposition.
The match provides a chance for Vipers’s head coach, Abdullahi Mubiru to put his tactics into practical after confessing he wants to brighten the chances and claim for Azam Uganda Premier League title this season.
“They are a competitive side that we have to attack with caution. We have to balance our game, attack and defend well,” Coach Abdullah Mubiru said.
Vipers are aware that any slip up at Lugogo will see them widen the gap with leaders KCCA FC while victory will keep them within touching distance and keep alive their title hopes.
“The boys know the weight of every game we play. The game is ours to lose, only a win can brighten our chances to win the league,”
On the other hand, many wait to see the formation and tactics Proline will apply to stop rejuvenated Vipers SC from salvaging a point from them. Edriss Lubega has been in superb form for Proline scoring crucial winning goals for them and he will starting the game.
A win for Vipers SC will be a huge advantage for them in their title contender hopes and can’t afford to lose.
Proline FC will be missing dependable defenders Yusuf Mukisa and Ssaka Mpiima but good news is that mid-fielder Joseph Mandela and defender Ibrahim Sendi will be available for selection.
For Vipers SC, Musa Esanu and Joseph Semujju are not fit for the match hence they will be missing in Hima Cement sponsored side.
Proline are still unbeaten at home but are yet to pick maximum points at Phillip Omondi Stadium and a win will take them to twelve points.
