Paris Saint-Germain have become the latest club to show interest in Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, and have the intention to strengthen their central midfield in the upcoming transfer window according to ESPN.
The Newly crowned Champions are believed to be also chasing Ghanaian Midfielder Thomas Partey as another option.
The Ligue 1 side are looking to strengthen the midfield that currently has Idrissa Gana Gueye, but the Senegalese has not stamped his authority at the Paris club.
This has prompted the top bosses at PSG to look into the prospects of bringing the 23-year old to the Parc de Princes.
However, Wilfred Ndidi has expressed his desire to stay at the King Power Stadium beyond the summer despite interest from teams such as Manchester United and Arsenal.
The Nigerian is contracted to Leicester until 2024. Ndidi’s defensive traits have given him the edge to be a key figure in Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Ndidi says he is keen to stay with Leicester and honor his contract.
He told ESPN, ““We are doing well and I am enjoying myself here. I still have a contract with Leicester.”
“I am learning and trying to improve myself every day and I am doing okay here so no need to go anywhere,” Ndidi said.
He has put in a stellar performance for the Foxes who currently lie 3rd on the table and on the verge on qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
Football has been suspended in England owing to the Coronavirus outbreak which has shut down many sporting events across the globe.
Ndidi signed for Leicester from Belgian side Genk in 2017. He has since made 111 appearances for the Foxes, scoring six goals and six assists.
