PSL fine Mamelodi Sundowns and midfielder Sirino

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) Disciplinary Committee has found Mamelodi Sundowns and midfielder Gaston Sirino guilty on several charges.

Sirino assaulting Supersport United players Clayton Daniels and Dean Furman during the MTN fixture on 18 September 2019 and ordered to pay a fine of R75,000 ( R25 000 ) suspended for 24 months.

Mamelodi Sundowns meanwhile, have similarly been found guilty of bringing the League into disrepute and fined R200 000 ( R150,000 suspended for 24 months)

The matter has been postponed few times after request from both the player Sirino and Mamelodi Sundowns.

On Monday, the PSL announced the outcome with both Sundowns and the Uruguayan playmaker charged heavily by the governing body.

In their judgement, the PSL stated, “Mamelodi Sundowns is ordered to pay a fine R200 000 of which R150 000 is suspended for a period of 24 months on condition that they are not found guilty of a similar offence during the period of suspension,.

“Gastón Sirino is ordered to serve a two-match suspension. He is also ordered to pay a fine of R75 000 of which R25 000 is suspended for a period of 24 months on condition that they are not found guilty of a similar offence during the period of suspension.”

The statement further adds, “Both Mamelodi Sundowns and Gastón Sirino are ordered to pay the several sittings of the Disciplinary Committee.
