Q and A with August SPL player of the Month, George Mandela

Please state your Full names; my name is George Mandela and i come from the western part of Kenya, my dad being Kenyan and my mother Ugandan, but i grew up mostly in Uganda.

How old are you George? I am 21 years old.

When did you start playing football? I always played for fun ever since I was a child until this year when I started playing professionally for Muhoroni Youth Football Club.

You were recently crowned the August sport pesa player of the month and got quite a bit of prize goodies to enjoy. You were happy about it, weren’t you? How did you spend it? Yes,I  was very happy and I looked at it as a team effort so we went out and enjoyed the winnings as a team, because without their assists and passes I would not have made those goals.

Can you say that has been your greatest achievement so far? It has so far been my biggest accomplishmentand I am grateful to God for that.

What are your aspirations as a player? I would like to play for a bigger team like gor mahia fc leopards, as well as international clubs.

Which team and player do you admire most?i am a Big fan of arsenal and mesut ozil is my best player

What can you say has been your biggest challenge? My biggest challenge so far is the pressure for a first timer having achieved much and maintaining that high par as a player because everyday somebody new is discovered.

So what can you tell a young player who is just starting their career? My coach always tells us to be self confident, disciplined and be positive about every situation, every hard game, listen to advise whenever given, practice hard and maintain your true self. That is all the advice I can give too.

Any last words to your fans? I am grateful everyday for their love and support and I appreciate each and every one of them.
