Rama Salim: I did not request to be taken back by Gor Mahia

By Bonface Osano,

Tanzania’s Coastal Union attacking midfielder  Rama Salim has come out strongly to clarify that he has not been knocking on Gor Mahia’s door for another stint at the club alluding to the fact that  contrary to the reports  it is Gor Mahia officials who have been trailing him for his signature relentlessly.

In a turn of events that was unexpected Rama Salim took  on his official twitter account  @rama_salim today hitting back , “Let me make it clear, I haven’t called  any Gor Mahia  official requesting to be taken back. They are the ones calling 24/7.”

The media has been awash with stories of Rama’s possible return to Gor after his one and a half year contract at Coastal Union of Tanzania’s Azam Premier League set to expire in June.

The diminutive attacking midfielder hurriedly left Gor Mahia mid 2013 KPL season for green pastures at the Tanga based side, where he managed to score six times in the just ended season helping them to finish fifth in the log.

While at Gor, his partnership with Ugandan International Danny Sserunkuma who is also set to make a comeback   to K’Ogalo from another Tanzania side Simba SC blossomed under coach Zdravko Logarusic as they scored at will. Their departure left Gor fans yearning for more, hence the current hype on their possible return captivating both the office bearers and the fans.

Soka25east.com has authoritatively established that the said move back to K’Ogalo by Rama is highly unlikely despite the fact that the player is in Coach Frank Nuttall’s wish list for the June transfer window, and that he will not go back to Coastal Union next season as his agent is hunting for a move to Asia or Europe.

In another related story, Danny Sserunkuma may also not make the much hyped return to the green army as has been alleged, Coach Nuttal is reportedly not keen on his signature, instead he would like to bring on board Ugandan International Julius Ssentongo. Also on Nuttal’s radar is AFC Leopards winger Noah Wafula.
