If you thought Sergio Ramos was embarrassed due to his involvement in Mohamed Salah’s injury, you would be sorely mistaken.
Speaking in an interview with Deportes Cuatro, Real Madrid’s center back played down Salah’s injury while describing that moment, and he managed to hit back at those who have labeled him as a dirty player.
“There’s been too many things written about Salah’s injury. I didn’t want to talk about it because it gets blown out of proportion, but looking at that play, he grabs my arm first and I fall on my side. In fact, the arm he injured is the one I don’t fall on. And people talk about me performing a judo move on him? Come on!” Ramos said.
The Spanish center back feels that people tend to overreact when he’s involved in such a situation, mainly due to the team’s recent winning ways.
“It’s weird, but whenever Ramos is involved, it’s talked about over and over. Maybe it has to do with Real Madrid’s recent victories, people tend to look at everything you do with a magnifying glass,” Ramos added.
La Roja’s captain also revealed he’s kept in touch with Salah, and shared a some words by the Egyptian ace in their conversations.
“I’ve texted him and he’s doing OK. In fact, he told me that if he had taken a shot, he could have kept on playing. It wasn’t that serious. But once again, people see that I’m involved and they keep on talking about it,” Ramos concluded.
