There is some ray of hope as both the PSL and ZIFA have resolved their differences over the promotion and relegation issue that was sparking tensions.
The PSL had accused ZIFA of changing an initial agreement to only relegate two teams. Instead ZIFA councillors voted to relegate four teams with PSL questioning the legality of the process among other issues.
ZIFA have formed a joint committe to look into the promotion and relegation issue
The statement read
“The Committee is comprised of ZIFA Regional Presidents and PSL Emergency Committee members Messrs Kenny Mubaiwa, Advocate Lewis Uriri (whose suspension has been lifted) , Lifa Ncube and Lovemore Matikinyidze. A fundraising committee for the Gabon Warriors Africa Cup of Nations finals has been set up and is headed by Executive Committee Member Finance, Philemon Machana and ZIFA councillors will be appointed as members of this important Committe”
In addition the Executive Committee is set to review the suspensions of Edzai Kasinauyo, Nation Dube and Ian Gorowa . The three were found not guilty of match fixing and bribery alongside former ZIFA CEO Henrietta Rushawaya by the court last week.
