Nkana football Club on saturday 19th November was held to a 1 all draw by Red Arrows at Nkana Stadium. Second placed Nkana missed a chance to equal Zanaco on points, who were also held by Green Eagles with a similar score line.
Red Arrow started strong and almost took the lead in the 7th minute when Festus Mbewe’s headed effort was saved by Kelvin Malunga. Nkana quickly settled and had their own moment 3 minutes later when Sate-Sate released Walter with a wonderful ball. But he failed to beat the post after beating the goal keeper.
Walter could not however miss in the 13th minute when he headed home a wonderful cross from the left to take his goal tally to 23 for the season.
Red Arrows equalised through Francis Simwanza in the 23rd minute. The goal was mainly a gift by the Nkana defense thanks to their disastrous defending.
The first half ended at tied at 1 all. The second half was a story of missed chances from both ends. Neither team was able to break the deadlock and ended 1 all.
Nkana have now accumulated 67 points and still two behind log Leaders Zanaco while Red Arrows have 43 points.
