Ethiopia junior side will on Saturday play Egyptian counterparts away at Petro Sport Stadium, Cairo in the U17 Nations Cup qualifiers first leg.

The Red Foxes, under Head Coach Atenafu Alemu have been getting in shape in Hawassa for a month now and the gaffer believes they are equal to the task despite not playing any meaningful warm up.

The initial squad of 30, was sized down to 20 for the trip whose return leg will be in a fortnight’s time in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.

The Red Foxes are no strangers in tournament having graced it thrice in the past.

8 teams will make it to Madagascar for the championship that kicks off on April 2-16, 2017. Semi finalists will make it to U17 FIFA World Cup in India later that year.
