Nakambala likely to go down
Eve before the mid week games this week it’s becoming clear which teams will be going to division one at the end of the season and which teams will be participating in the CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE and CAF CONFEDERATION CUP
Here is my take
RELEGATION
The three teams already known going down are
1.Lusaka Dynamos
2.Lusaka Tigers
3. Mufulira Blackpool
Which one is the fourth to join the three ?
With clearly looking at the games in hand in which those still fighting relegation are involved it is clear that Nakambala Leopards will be going to the zones .
The Mazabuka outfit have two games against Zesco United and are sitting on 35 points with -10 goal difference . They don’t even need one victory but two to survive or winning one with a big margin and drawing the other . That is a big one to ask Nakambala to achieve against a Zesco United that are also looking for wins to grab second spot.
The closest team to catch for Nakambala is Lumwana Radiants who only need a point in their three games against Zanaco , Zesco and NAPSA. Lumwana can afford to lose the three games with slender loses as long as Nakambala do not pick maximum points . It will be a big task to ask Nakambala Leopards to do a double against ZESCO and hence I conclude that Nakambala will be playing division one next season.
CAF SPOTS
I think ZESCO will get it and leapfrog Nkana, they take on NAPSA in Wednesday and a win will reduce the difference to four points with three games to play against Lumwana and two against Nakambala.
Nakambala Leopards has never beaten Zesco United in Ndola but they have won three in Mazabuka on three occasions . Zesco has beaten Nakambala Leopards 7 times (4 in Ndola and 3 in Mazabuka)
NAPSA has even a worse of record against ZESCO UNITED , they have never beaten Zesco in the 9 last games in the super league. losing 7 and drawing 2.
I think ZESCO United is well placed to win second than Nkana.
