Thomas Abbey has reportedly parted ways with Egyptian side Ismaily.
The 24 year-old joined the North African side as a free agent in January this year following the expiration of his contract with premier league giants Hearts of Oak at the end of the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League.
He terminated his contract with the Mango Boys after just six months on personal grounds.
Thomas Abbey hits the net 13 times in the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League season and was on target for the Phobians’ 3-1 loss in the MTN FA Cup finals vs Asante Kotoko at the Tamale Sports Stadium in the Northern Region last October.
He was voted the home-based player of the year at the maiden Ghana Football Awards.
Abbey was part of the Black Stars B Team that won the WAFU Zone B competition on home soil last September.
He becomes the latest Ghanaian player to have ended his romance with the former Egyptian champions.
Ghanaian and West African players in general have had torrid time plying their trade in the North African nation.
