Vipers SC have fired coach Miguel Duarte Da Costa, just two months after guiding the team to their third Uganda Premier League title.
A source at the Kitende based outfit has revealed to us the move by the club hierarchy and indicated that the Portuguese coach had become difficult to work with.
“He has made life for the club leadership difficult which is why the decision has been reached,” the source told Soka25East.
Already a leaked press release which is not yet signed by the club president Lawrence Mulindwa confirms the decision was taken this morning after a board meeting.
“Vipers SC management has today the 17th July 2018 as part of its restructuring process and preparation for the CAF club competitions and upcoming Uganda Premier League season relieved it’s head coach Miguel Jorge Da Costa of his services to the club as coach,” reads the statement on its part.
“Vipers SC would like to thank Coach Da Costa for his commitment and service to the club and wishes him success in his career advancement going foward.”
The Venoms are set to have a press conference Lawrence Mulindwa’s offices in Kampala regarding the development where Edward Golola is expected to be named as the care taker coach.
