COSAFA President Philip Chayangwa has distanced himself from the statement made by Guinea Bissau Football Association President Opes Manuel Nascimento, where he blasts the president of World Football governing body FIFA, Giani Infantino. Mr Chiyangwa edged his colleague to give the FIFA President the respect that he deserves especially for his reforms and transparency in running the affairs of FIFA.
Mr Chiyangwa who is also Zimbabwe Football Association President condemned Mr Nascimento’s actions and said that majority of FA presidents hold contray views to that of the Guinea Bissau FA President.
The COSAFA President went on to shower praise on Infantino for the increase in funding to individual associations in CAF to US $5 million and the appointment of Fatma Samoura of Senegal as the Secretary general of the world Football governing body.

Mr Nascimento accused Giani Infantino of trying to divide CAF .
“I have never seen the type of person that FIFA is having today . Infantino did not come to bring joy into Football but came to split everybody from Football”-he said
“What Infantino is doing, his aim and ambition is to fight Hayatou and destroy CAF, so he can put people that he can control”-he further added
