BLACK RHINOS V BANTU ROVERS
National Sports Stadium
Harare
Kick off: 15.00
Once formidable Army sponsored Harare based side and top flight soccer returnees Black Rhinos FC, will be getting into the Friday afternoon encounter to open week four of the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League with confidence. Boasting an unbeaten run in any encounter against Bulawayo side Bantu Rovers in the last four encounters.
In the 2009 season Black Rhinos beat Bantu Rovers 2-0 at home and drew 1-1 away. That’s the only point Bantu Rovers have taken in the league from Rhinos in recent times.
The two teams would then meet again in 2014 and this time Rhinos did a double on Rovers and eminently one of the reasons why Rovers would then be relegated .
Bantu Rovers had trouble recruiting a substantive coach and this has forced the club to resort to club co-owner and President Methemba Ndlovu to take to the dug for rest of the season. No doubt Ndlovu has the credentials to coach at the highest level having been there before.
Friday afternoon of the 21st April 2017, the two teams meet once more.
Both teams are coming to this game with one win each though Black Rhinos have played one game less and lost one while Bantu Rovers already have two defeats.
Its a battle of the premiership returnees and poses a mouthwatering encounter for the neutrals.
Bantu Rovers’ biggest challenge this season has been their defence and already just in three games have allowed 8 goals with scoring just three. But that maybe understood as the club has mastered the art of grooming youngsters for sale. Infact some section have hinted that Ndlovu has no interest in top flight football as it drains on the resources.
The negative five goal difference is not helping matters for the team. Though it could be early days to cast the spell on relegation matters.
A good opportunity for Black Rhinos to get the second win of the season and possibly go second before the other teams play and remember they have a game in hand.
I think Black Rhinos will get this one.
Black Rhinos to win.
