Swaziland representatives in CAF Champions League, Royal Leopards will appeal to CAF after their counterparts AS Vita Club fielded a defaulter during their recent preliminary round matches both at home and away.

The Kinshasa- based side won 4-1 in aggregate, having defeated Royal Leopards by a solitary goal in Mbabane courtesy of Francisco Obama Ondo, the player at the centre of the controversy in a scandal that was exposed by Soka25east.

According to Royal Leopards chairman,Mcolisi Dlamini, the club has resolved to persue the matter by seeking legal advice from the National Football Association of Swaziland (NFSA).

“We trust CAF to investigate and pronounce a proper sanction to the club. We are no doubt an interested party in the whole saga and we stand and hope to benefit from it at the end of the day, if there were any irregularities in the player’s registration. We have set an appointment with the FA CEO regarding the issue, because in everything that we have to do, they have to advise us,” he said in an interview with Times of Swaziland.

Investigations made by Soka25east unearthed how the Cameroonian born Franklin Bama Yangoua alias Francisco Obama Ondo escaped the wrath of CAF under unclear circumstances with the body having registered the player using an illegally acquired passport among other irregularities that made him ineligible to feature in the match.
