Despite a brace from Mouhssine Yajour, Raja Casablanca are still winless in the CAF Confederation Cup after going down 4-2 to RSB Berkane in a Group A match at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah in Rabat on Sunday.
The result leaves Berkane at the top of Group A with seven points from three matches while Raja have two points.
Raja will be afforded the opportunity to avenge themselves next Sunday, March 3 when they travel to the home ground of Berkane for their next Confederation Cup match.
On the night, the home side got off to the worst possible start with Imran Fiddi putting the ball into the back of his own net in the tenth minute to give Berkane the lead in the Moroccan derby, 1-0.
Raja suffered a further set-back on the half hour mark when Ilias Haddad had to leave the field injured and was replaced by Salaheddine Bahi.
Still, despite being a goal down and missing a key player, Raja pushed forward but were unable to draw level before the half time break.
Sven minutes into the second half Berkane doubled their lead thanks to a clinical finish from Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba, 2-0.
Raja, however, managed to pull a goal back on the hour mark courtesy of a strike from Mouhssine Yajour, 2-1.
The home sides joy was short-lived as Berkane restored their two-goal lead five minutes later with Mohammed Farehane finding the back of the net, 3-1.
The home side were certainly not going to go down without a fight and scored their second goal in the 74th minute courtesy of another goal from Mouhssine Yajour, 3-2.
Berkane, though, were having none of it and put the result beyond doubt in the 84th minute thanks to a second goal from Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba, 4-2.
