Mauritius senior national team coaches Alain Happe and Joe Tshuputa have named their final team to face Kenya on Wednesday 7, in the preliminary round of the FIFA World Cup qualifier at Anjalay Stadium, Belle Vue.
The initial squad of 27 players that went to camp on Sunday 4 at Casa Florida Hotel in Pereybere was today reduced to the last 22 who will represent the Island nation tomorrow.
The five dropped includes; Stewart Louis, Damien Balisson, Eldon Lindor, Gurty Calambe and Jason Selmour.
Club M as the team is known, will be Captained by youthful defender Jonathan Bru. The team includes late call up Emmanuel Vincent of ASPL 2000 – the gifted defender has grown through all junior sides of Mauritius and was part of the team which finished third in the Indian Ocean Island games.
Also in the team is defensive midfielder Kevin Bru who plays for Ipswich Town in the England Championship. The forward line boasts Andy Sophie who plays for AS Marsouins in Reunion Island first division league, he scored in Mauritius last matches against Burundi, Togo, Ghana and Madagascar.
The team will head back to camp after tomorrow’s match and travel to Kenya on Thursday morning for the return leg slated for Kasarani Stadium, on Sunday 11.
