“Les Dodos” the Mauritius senior soccer team has been training daily for one week now at the Sepp Blatter Football House training ground,Ebene, ahead of the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Kenya’s Harambee Stars.
The match will be played on Wednesday, October 7,2015 at the Anjalay Stadium – Kick off 1830HRS.
The 27 man squad is composed of 21 local based pros and 6 foreign based players – the foreign legion are expected in town by Saturday, October 3.
The youthful side lead by skipper Adel Langue of Cercle de Joachim who is just 18 years of age consists majorly of players who won 1-0 against Mozambique in the CHAN 2016 qualifier on September 6.
The most experienced player in the team is midfielder Jonathan Bru of Saint Gratien, France, he has also plied his trade in Australia with Melbourne Victory.
Head coach Alain Happe is feeling motivated by the win against highly ranked Mozambique and believes he will get a good result against Kenya, “Kenya is a good side, but if we did well against 95th placed Mozambique, we can give them a good match as well.” Alain told Soka25east.com contact in Mauritius.
Mauritius has been building up to the Kenya clash by playing a series of friendlies, they also took in the Indian Ocean Island games held in August where they beat Madagascar 3-1 to win Bronze.
