Preliminaries of 2018 Russia FIFA World Cup for Africa ended on Tuesday 13. 26 lowest ranked teams in Africa faced each other on home and away basis in the round to produce 13 teams to join 27 higher ranked teams that were given a bye in the preliminaries in round 2 of the qualifiers.
The 40 nations from round 2 will also lock horns on home and away basis starting November with aggregate winners proceeding to round 3.
