Tanzania senior football team will on Sunday 8 play a build match against Premier Soccer League (PSL) side University of Pretoria FC (AmaTuks) in Jihannesburg.
Stars are camping in South Africa since Monday 3 ahead of 2018 FIFA World Cup preliminaries second round tie against North African heavyweights Algeria on Sunday,November 15 in Dar Es Salaam.
Head Coach Charles Mkwasa is planning to use the friendly to gauge his charges’ development after four days of intense training. The team is staying at Holiday Inn Express in Woodmead where they have been training twice daily at St. Peter’s College and Edenvale Sports Centre.
Charles has praised the conducive conditions at the camp saying his boys are in good shape and so far have no injury worries.
“The aim of the camp is to prepare the team in a conducive environment in terms of good training facilities and diet to help boost their concentration, “ Charles said.
“We started with awareness, stamina and endurance training to make sure our players are on the same level in terms of fitness. We will then take on the technical part of the game till the final day when we come back home.” He added.
The 26 man team will be joined later by TP Mazembe duo of Thomas Ulimwengu and Mbwana Samatta after their CAF Champions league final match against USM Algiers on Sunday 8.
