The Taifa stars of Tanzania squandered a 2-goal lead to split points with Algeria in their 2018 FIFA world cup qualifiers first leg in Dar-es-saalam.
The home side stunned the visitors Algeria, opening the scoring through Elias Maguli in the first half before their in-form striker Mbwana Samatha stretched the lead in the second half.
Islam Sliman struck twice in the latter stages to prevent North African giants from falling and bring them back in t
he game.
Ahead of the second leg scheduled to be played on Tuesday,Algeria will be carrying an advantage of 2 away goals, needing only a barren stalemate to qualify to the next round.
