The Malawi Flames trouble continued despite beating Taifa Stars 1-0 in a World Cup 2018 Preliminary qualifiers played today at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre, Malawi
John Banda scored late in the first half but his goal was not enough to see off determined Taifa Stars who pressed hard to hold on to the slim 0-1 lead by the Flames
Malawi started the match on a high with victory of three goals or atleast two goals to force the match into penalties
Flames Coach Ernest Mtawali said it was a pity they did not qualify but was impressed with his young lads that he promised to use and gel together.He adviced the FA to organize more friendlies.
On his part Taifa Stars coach Charles Mkwasa said he was pleased to qualify and gave credit to Malawi for a ‘Wonderful performance’
Tanzania will face Algeria in the first round for a place in a five Group last round comprising four teams.
