Ethiopia national team midfielder Gatoch Panom has moved to Russian side Anzhi Makhackala on a three-year contract, having successfully exhausted his former deal with EPL side Ethiopia Coffee.
22-year-old flew to Moscow on Wednesday last week for trials with the Anzhi and now has passed his medicals without a problem.
A statement from his agent David Beshah said that they have held discussions with the side and that the deal has been sealed,five days after his trial stint with Anzhi.
“We are very delighted with the move.He is talented lad and i knew he would seal a move to Anzhi,”said Beshah.
Gatoch will now jet off with the rest of the Anzhi squad to Slovenia next week for the start of a their pre-season camp tour which will see the club face various local sides.
Anzhi is based in Dagestan State and has been home to top stars like multiple African Player of the Year Samuel Eto’o of Cameroon, former Brazilian full back Roberto Carlos and Democratic Republic of Congo’s Christopher Samba.
Gatoch scored 8 league goals in the just concluded Ethiopia Premier League season and recently featured for the Walia Ibex’s match aganist Ghana earning his 27th cap.
