Rwanda head coach Antoine Hey has exuded confidence that Amavubi will get a good result when they face Uganda on Saturday August 12.

Hey knows a win over Cranes will give the Amavubi a chance to sail though into the next round pending the return match a week later in Kigali.

He anticipates a tough match against their neighbours but believes what is at stake will motivate his charges to win the match.

“Players are looking very sharp, they are motivated, concentrated and I have an injury-free squad which is fit and ready to go,”

“We expect a very difficult and hard game, the hardest game that we will play so far and we hope for a good result, we have everything in our own hands and we are playing back home next week,”

“We need a result that gives us a chance to get into the next round and that’s tight one, it’s a 0-0 1-1, 1-0; everything that is possible that will turn things around in our favour is what we aim for in Saturday’s game,”

Rwanda will be going into the match after an impressive 2-1 win over Uganda in an international friendly match played on Monday in Kigali,a match that Hey says he will work out to improve.

“In our friendly match against Sudan, we saw that we still have some work to do , nothing is granted, it will be a very tough match and on the same side Uganda played against Azam Fc 2-2 on Tuesday which is also not very convincing. We expect a tough match against Uganda but they are not unbeatable. We are confident and we are going there with high hopes,” concluded the German-born tactician.
