APR and Amavubi forward Michel Ndahinduka has been called up to the Rwanda national team to replace Lausanne Sports Fc Quentin Rushenguziminega who is yet to recover from a back injury he sustained in the last 2017 Africa Nation’s Cup qualifier against Ghana last month.
Rushenguziminega was among foreign-based players summoned by Amavubi coach Johnathan McKinstry for the upcoming 10-day training camp due in Morocco.
The decision to allow Rushenguziminega not to join the Rwanda national team camp was taken to allow the striker to recover quickly following a meeting between Amavubi head coach Johnathan McKinstry and the management of Laussane Sport on Thursday.
Ndahinduka will occupy Rushenguziminega’s spot upfront alongside Isaie Songa and Ernest Sugira who are also on the traveling squad to Morocco.
AS Kigali midfielder Rodriguez Murengezi is another attacking midfielder who will be playing behind the strikers when Rwanda face Burkina Faso in a friendly match on October 9 in Morocco.
Murengezi, who has scored four goals in three games in the Rwanda Premier League including a hat-trick against Sunrise in a 4-0 win last weekend, will add to McKinstry’s attacking options as the side Amavubi team prepares for Chan 2016 and the upcoming 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers against Libya in November.
Amavubi team is scheduled to leave for Morocco on Sunday.
