Rayon Sports have suspended head coach Masudi Djuma for a week for poor performance, Olivier Gakwaya, the club’s Secretary General has confirmed.
Rayon, 7-times Rwandan champions bowed out of the Confederation of African Football Cup – falling 2-0 aggregate to Nigeria’s Rivers United over the weekend.
However, the reigning Rwandan Cup champions have enjoyed a fine run in the domestic league and are top of the standings – five points clear of arch rivals APR with six rounds of matches to end of current season.
The Nzanza based outfit are on 55 points – five ahead of record champions APR with two games at hand.
Reports from Rwanda indicate Djuma has been “disrespectful” to his staff and this could be the main reason for his suspension at this critical time of the league.
