The 2009 Chan Bronze Medalists Zambia are aiming at topping group D with a win against Mali on Wednesday.According to a post on the Football of Zambia’s Official facebook page monitored by soka25east.com ,Both Coach George Lwandamina and the Chipolopolo boys want to collect maximum points.
George Lwandamina says he will field a strong side in Chipolopolo’s final Group D fixture stressing that attaining maximum points was the squad’s objective.
Lwandamina told a pre match press conference at the Kigali Stadium that Zambia was at the CHAN with clear objectives which were relevant in every game.
“We came here with certain objectives to be attained. One was to build a much stronger side for other assignments like AFCON and the World Cup and secondly to expose as many players as we possibly can and lastly to protect our football integrity. We will go
and try to maximize our points. We will field the best players against Mali and progress match after match to the end of the
tournament,” Lwandamina said.
Lwandamina hailed his boys positive attitude saying with such a spirit as was obtaining in the Chipolopolo camp, it would be very difficult for any team to stop Zambia.
Skipper Chris Katongo said the team was focused on Mali and was enjoying excellent form.
Katongo said; “The mood in the camp is high. It’s very good. From the time we left home, we’ve been looking forward to the tournament. We hang together, joke together and we looking forward to the game tomorrow.”
