Rwanda2016:Zambia can reach the semi finals-Kalu

Chipolopolo is capable of beating Guinea and sealing a spot in the semi-finals says Football Association of Zambia president Kalusha Bwalya.According to a post on the Football Association of Zambia’s Official Facebook page monitored by Soka25east.com the renowned Africanfootball legend believes the George Lwandamina tutored side will make it to the last 4 of this year CHAN tournament.

Zambia has the will and manpower to execute a good game plan against Guinea Conakry and progress to the semi finals of the CHAN championship, FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya has said.

Kalusha, the celebrated 1988 African Footballer of the year, reckons that George Lwandamina’s men have continued to make strides since the start of the tournament. In what has been a hugely successful outing for Zambia, Chipolopolo shone in group play where the team’s solidity came to the fore as the team amassed an impressive 7points to win Group D with two victories and a draw. The conceded no goals and will be buoyant ahead of Sunday’s last eight fixture against Guinea in Rubavu.

“Firstly, congratulations to the Chipolopolo for making it to the knock out stage, ” Kalusha said adding: ” We take a game at a time. But I feel we are well prepared for the quarter finals. We have a strong base after you look at the way we have played the last three games. ”

” Against Guinea, we need to be strong. We need to keep calm and take our chances. We have fantastic team spirit, the will and manpower to do a good job, ” said Kalusha who is also Executive Committee member of the continental soccer governing body, CAF.At CHAN 2016, Kalusha is chief of CAF’s mission in Rubavu.

Kalusha, who is set for re election for another four years at the helm of Football House at the FAZ AGM on 19th March, called on fans and the nation to continue rallying with the squad.

Zambia traveled back to Rubavu this morning, taking a three hour drive from Kigali.The Chipolopolo have long been looking forward to returning to Rubavu, a city they have made home since the start of the CHAN.
