The national men’s football team, Amavubi reached in Morocco safely on Monday afternoon ahead of their 10-day training camp which is being staged in preparation for the 2016 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) and the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
The team landed in Casablanca on Monday afternoon aboard Qatar Airways from Doha, Qatar where they had a night stop-over enroute from Kigali-Rwanda on Sunday.
Upon arrival in Casablanca, the team was driven to Rabat by the host federation, Morocco Royal Football Association and is being accommodated at Oumlil Hotel in the City of Rabat.
Head Coach Johhny McKinstry took the national team in two sessions of intensive drills on Tuesday as they prepare for the Friday’s friendly match against Burkina Faso’s domestic team.
Meanwhile, Rwanda Football Federation has landed another friendly match against Olympic team and the game will be played on Sunday, October 11 in Rabat.
The friendly tie against Tunisia Olympic team comes as a replacement for Equatorial Guinea who could not affirm their commitment to play Rwanda in a friendly match which was scheduled to be played on October 13.
All these matches are set to be staged as a platform to prepare locally based players ahead of Chan 2016 which will be hosted in Rwanda from January 16-February 7, 2016.
