Africa’s most expensive player, Sadio Mane is already setting the pace at the 2017 Total Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon with two goals already under his belt.
Two goals in two games has seen the Liverpool man help his country sail through to a quarterfinals after their flattering 2-0 win over Zimbabwe in Franceville.
Mane’s 10th minute penalty against Tunisia in the first group match was the quickest goal recorded in the first round of the tournament.
Last night Mane was at it again scoring in the 9th minute against Zimbabwe breaking his earlier record of 10 minutes.
A quick break on the left wing by the impressive Keita Balde set up an onrushing Mane to easily tap in at the far post.
Mane could have scored another had it not been for the heroics of Zimbabwe goalkeeper Tendai Mukuruva.
The goal makes him also joint top scorer of the tournament and in the running for the golden boot tied with Riyad Mahrez on 2 goals.
It might still be early days but in the tournament that has seen few goals, Sadio Mane and Senegal are already setting the pace scoring 4 goals in two games, conceding none and its down to the other teams to match them.
