Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda has summoned 28 players to a local camp as part of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) and Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers preparations.
Nyirenda has drafted Buildcon striker Jonas Sakuwaha and Nakambala Leopards attacker Ignatius Lwipa and Power Dynamos midfielder Godfrey Ngwenya.
The journeyed former Zesco United striker has been over the years in and out of the national team set and was part of the 2012 Africa Cup winning side although he never played a role on the pitch.
Sakuwaha also had a stint at French side FC Lorient before making a stop at TP Mazembe in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Nyirenda will have Zesco United players, available for this camp, after missing out on last month’s training due to continental engagements.
Team manager Chris Chibuye released the names to Fazfootball.com saying that the team will enter residential camp on Sunday and train up to Wednesday when players will be released to feature for their clubs.
Zambia is scheduled to play Mozambique on June 13 in an Africa Cup qualifier while the CHAN qualifier for Kenya 2018 is set on the weekend of July 14-16.
