Ethiopia’s all time goal poacher Salhadin Said has expressed his happiness at winning the Egyptian Super Cup on his debut for Al Ahly as they won 5-4 on post match penalties against their bitter arch rivals Zamalek.
Salahdin speaking exclusively to Soka25east.com from his base in Egypt alluded to the fact that he was elated having won his first trophy and being the first ever Ethiopian to win a title in Egypt.
At the same time Sala sought to give his thoughts in Ethiopia’s 3-2 loss to Malawi last Wednesday in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Blantre .
“I am so so happy to have won the Super Cup on my debut for Al Ahly. The win and the trophy was important to me on my first day and i hope i will win more trophies in what i expect to be a great moment for me playing for one of the biggest clubs in Africa Al Ahly which has alot of great tradition and history”‘Salahdin told Soka25east.com
On Ethiopia’s chances to qualify for Afcon 2015 and the loss to Malawi, Salahdin was forthright in his opinion to the issue
“We conceded quick goals in the second half and tha put paid to our fight to comeback. We have young players who are still inexperienced but with time i know they will at their best to play the big matches and fight for a win.I still belive we have high hopes of qualifying if we can win all our home games against Malawi and Mali in Addis Ababa. It important that we continue working hard as a team and help give morale to the young upcoming players “he added
Salhadin Said joined Al Ahly from another Egyptian side Wadi Degla and has been touted as the man who will help the Egyptian giants reclaim their glory as they prepare for a gruelling league run .
